Launch of the Midlands Hydrogen Forum, May 2007

Rupert Gammon, a director of Bryte Energy, is a co-founder and the current Chair of the recently formed Midlands Hydrogen Forum.  Bryte Energy joined forces with Cenex and Birmingham University and a host of the region's hydrogen and fuel cell stakeholders to create the Forum, which was launched at a meeting in Loughborough on 16th May 2007.  This initiative has the blessing of the regional development agencies, EMDA and AWM, as well as the DTI, whose representative Greg Vaughan was a guest speaker at the launch event.

The Midlands Hydrogen Forum was set up to give a voice to the many companies and research institutions in the Midlands who are actively involved in the fields of hydrogen and fuel cells.  While other regions may have been more vocal in the past about their strengths in these matters, it could be argued that the Midlands has more actually going on.  The MHF will also help to coordinate such activities, build capacity and encourage collaboration within the region and beyond.

If you are part of an organisation with interests in hydrogen and fuel cells that is active in either the of the areas covered by the East Midlands Development Agency or Advantage West Midlands, please feel free to get involved with the Midlands Hydrogen Forum.  You can start by contacting us via the equiries@bryte-energy.com email address.

A registered users space for the MHF will be set up on the Hydrogen and Low-Carbon Technology KTN website soon.  Watch this space for further announcements.
