
Prof David Infield, Non-Executive Director
David is Professor of Renewable Energy Systems and has been Director of CREST at Loughborough University since its inception 14 years ago. There he as established one of the world's the leading centres of excellence in renewable energy systems.Previously, he was employed by BSRIA, Bracknell as a Project Engineer for 2 years; then by Rutherford Appleton Laboratory as RA, then SSO, working on wind energy systems. He was educated at Imberhorne Comprehensive, East Sussex, and then at Lancaster University (BA in Mathematics and Physics) and University of Kent (PhD in Applied Mathematics).
David is a member of Institute of Physics, a Chartered Physicist and a senior member of the IEEE. He has represented the UK on a range of international expert groups, and standards committees related to renewable energy. Currently this involves IEC committees for small wind systems, and also photovoltaic (PV) systems.
